Rather than threatening to demand a refund from high schools, perhaps employers should take more care to verify a graduate's qualifications (Sept. 11, "Public schools failing").
Employers have every right to question the applicant to ascertain public school graduation status. By all means, demand the attachment of a transcript. What was the GPA? Did the graduate end his or her years with high honors? Did coursework include career internship?
Employers have to do their homework as well when hiring high school graduates, or for that matter, college and university graduates.
