BOISEFollowing up on his tie for eighth finish a week earlier at the Utah Championship, Clay Ogden fired a final-round 63 to vault into a tie for sixth place at the Nationwide Tour's Albertsons Boise Open Sunday afternoon.
The West Point native and former BYU golfer posted the second-best score of the tournament while improving from a tie for 43rd place. He had just barely made the cut after the second round, making two late birdies to qualify for final two days.
In Sunday's final round, Ogden had eight birdies and no bogeys and his 63 gave him a three-round total of 272. He earned $21,180, the largest check of his professional career. By finishing in the top 25, Ogden earned an automatic spot in this week's Oregon Classic
Farmington's Daniel Summerhays posted his third straight 69 and finished in a tie for 26th place at 277. Chris Tidland was the winner with a final-round 64 and a 20-under-par 264 total.
