WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: The No. 23-ranked Cougars handed Boise State its seventh loss of the year Friday at the InnTowner Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The Cougars improved to 6-1 on the year with the four-set victory, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-22, while the Broncos dropped to 0-7.
Senior Bryn Porter led four Cougars in double-digit kills as she tallied 17. Junior Kayla Walker posted 13 kills while junior Ashton Hosford and Rachel Dyer each recorded 10 winners. Porter and Walker also notched double-doubles with 13 and 10 digs, respectively. Junior Morgan Lloyd paced the Cougars with 18 digs.
The Cougars continue competition at the InnTowner Invitational today with matches against Central Michigan and 14th-ranked Wisconsin.
MEN'S TENNIS: The second day of the Utah Tennis Fall Classic ended with Cougars earning most of the spots available for today's finals. The team ensured an all-Cougar doubles final after winning all of its quarterfinal matches Friday and securing three of the four positions in the singles semifinals.
In singles, head coach and defending champion Brad Pearce will face Christian Hodel, who plays for Boise State, while BYU sophomore Thomas Shubert will look to defeat teammate Cassidy Mears for a spot in the final.
Today's matches will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the BYU outdoor tennis courts and admission is free.
