Once again, in his campaign speeches, John McCain is insisting on "victory" in Iraq. He continues touting the old Bush line of exaggeration and half-truths that we are winning in Iraq. America deserves real honesty. Iraq has enormous problems. Sunni and Shia relations remain extremely shaky, and control of Iraqi oil remains undetermined. The truth is that only the Iraqi people can ever claim victory, and that eventuality will be determined by their leaders, not ours. Deception got us into the Iraq war. More of the same will keep us in the war for years to come.

We need the real change that Barack Obama can bring us: leadership that is committed to bringing our soldiers home. His own words say it all: "Here is the truth: Fighting a war without end will not force the Iraqis to take responsibility for their own future. And fighting in a war without end will not make the American people safer."
