SOUTH SALT LAKE — Three armed men forced their way into a home, injuring a homeowner Wednesday night.

The incident happened near 100 East and 2930 South just after 10 p.m., said South Salt Lake Police Lt. Greg Carlson.

The suspects, described only as white males, forced their way into the home while the homeowners were in the garage. Two men were armed with handguns, the other man had a knife, Carlson said.

A homeowner confronted the suspects and was hit in the head, suffering minor injuries.

The three men took wallets and then stole a car. Police were searching for a white, 1993 Mercury Tracer.
