Police arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a McDonald's at 1655 S. Redwood Road on Aug. 29 and held an employee at knife point.
According to charges filed in 3rd District Court, the 20-year-old man entered the business at closing time, donning a navy blue ski mask, and he grabbed the 17-year-old shift manager and held a knife to his throat. Salt Lake police said two female employees were frightened and escaped through the drive-up window to call for help. The man made off with a blue zipper envelope filled with several hundred dollars, police said.
During the investigation, police suspected a teenage employee was involved in facilitating the robbery and eventually tracked down the adult. The man is charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. Bail has been set at $25,000.
