CENTERVILLE — Firefighters searching for a woman in a burning building Tuesday night were relieved to discover she wasn't in there after all.

Authorities received report of a fire at O'Brien Glass Products at 55 E. Porter Lane around 7 p.m. Tuesday. They arrived on scene to find the front half of the building ablaze, and a crowd of people said 69-year-old Lois O'Brien, wife of the business owner, was inside, said Deputy Chief Blaine Porter of South Davis Metro Fire Agency.

Fire fighters plunged into the building twice in search of the woman, Blaine said. As they mounted their third search, O'Brien walked up to the scene. To everyone's relief, she and husband Gary were visiting a friend at Lakeview Hospital.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
