Michael Turner set a franchise record with 220 yards rushing on 22 carries in Atlanta's 34-21 win over the Lions. Gerald Riggs set the team record of 202 yards in 1984. Turner had two touchdowns in his first game since signing with the Falcons from San Diego. The 220 yards rushing were the most in NFL history for a player making his debut with a team.

The Steelers won their sixth consecutive opener by beating Houston 38-17, the NFL's longest streak since Miami won 11 in a row from 1992-2002. ... Cincinnati's Chad Ocho Cinco has at least one catch in 93 straight games after the Bengals' 17-10 loss to Baltimore, tying the team record set by Carl Pickens. The Ravens have gone an NFL-best 20 straight games without allowing a 100-yard rusher. ... Fred Taylor's streak of five straight regular-season games with 100 yards rushing ended in Jacksonville's 17-10 loss to Tennessee. He finished with 18 yards on nine carries. ... Cleveland is just 1-9 in Week 1 since returning to the league in 1999 after losing to Dallas 28-10.
