PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (AP) — An emergency dispatcher in suburban Philadelphia said a hot-air balloon crashed and burst into flames on Sunday, killing one person and injuring the six others who were on board.

The Chester County Emergency Services dispatcher said the balloon crashed at 6:40 p.m. in Phoenixville, 22 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Those injured were taken to area hospitals. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

Emergency officials did not know where the flight began. Several companies in the area offer recreational balloon flights.
