LAYTON — Phase 3 of the West Gentile Street reconstruction project should be completed by the end of September.

According to city manager Alex Jensen, paving for Gentile, from 2200 West to 3700 West, could commence during the first week of September.

After that work, the finishing touches, such as raising manholes, is the only work that will need to be done.

Jensen said he expects only a few days of closure during September, after the paving work is finished.

Currently, the road is closed to through traffic, but businesses have paved access from 2200 to 2900 West.

Jensen also said a traffic study will be conducted at the intersection of 2200 West and Hill Field Road to see if a traffic light needs to be installed there. At present, a four-way stop serves the intersection, located near the West Layton Fire Station and Ellison Park.
