As part of the opening of the Legacy Parkway, the Hess Cancer Foundation will be hosting a once-in-a-lifetime Ride and Run (5K, 10K and 20-mile bike) down the newest pavement you'll ever be on.
These races will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m., starting from 500 S. Legacy Parkway in Woods Cross.
Fees for the races are $50 for the cycling and $45 each for both of the running events. (Entry fees increased by $10 on Friday.) All registration fees are tax-deductible and go toward the Hess Cancer Foundation.
Race organizers also want participants to remember that the Legacy Parkway does not open until Saturday. The penalty for going on a test run or test ride will get you disqualified from the race as well as a possible trespassing citation, organizers warn.
Online registration is available, but it closes on Thursday. There will be no race day registration. Go to tourlegacy.com to register.
