Now that Sen. John McCain has selected Alaska governor, NRA life member and fisherwoman Sarah Palin as his running mate, I have decided to vote for him rather than write in John Doe, Mitt Romney or my wife, Mae, any of whom is more suitable for the presidency than the half-baked socialist, Barack Obama.

Sen. McCain's unimaginably heroic military service does much to recommended him for the presidency, but he has been so pathetically wrong on some critical issues that, before changing his mind, he was of dubious suitability for the world's most important job.

Having been produced by the pioneer culture of Alaska and possessing many pioneer values, Gov. Palin will provide a healthy dose of common sense to the McCain White House and will provide firsthand knowledge regarding two of our most critical issues, energy and nature.
