I had a "favorite candidate" I hoped would run for president in the years to come, until I heard his speech in the Republican National Convention. I'm sure he has high values and talent, but I thought he used his words to promote himself and made statements, seemingly, for shock value. His comments about mortgages were so general that I felt they were a slap in the face to many good men and women of integrity in that profession. I was disappointed.

Many people are hurting and watching what's happening in America for signs of improvement. As I listened to John McCain's speech in the RNC I felt hope for the first time in a long time. He avoided petty politics and offered solutions for economic problems! Thank goodness for hope!
