WOMEN'S SOCCER: Southern Utah's women's soccer team will look to snap out of its slow start to the season when the Thunderbirds travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. this weekend for a game with Northern Arizona. The T-Birds will also be looking for their first win against NAU in the seventh meeting between the two teams with the Lumberjacks holding the all-time series lead at 5-0-1.

Senior Shaley Ipson-Allen is still looking for her first goal of the season that would put her over the top and break the all-time mark at SUU. Currently, she is tied for first all-time with 13 career goals. A pair of goals would also vault her to the top of the all-time points mark as she is in second place with 31 points, four points behind the leader.

MEN'S GOLF: SUU's men's golf team opens its five-tournament fall schedule this weekend when the Thunderbirds compete at Air Force's Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational.

The tournament will be contested Friday and Saturday at the 7,301-yard Eisenhower Golf Club Blue Course. Competitors will play two rounds Saturday, with the final round Sunday morning.

Seventeen teams are entered in the field, including SUU, Colorado State, Long Beach State, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Sacramento State, UC-Colorado Springs, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Washington State, Weber State, Wyoming, and the varsity and junior varsity teams from host Air Force.

Competing for the Thunderbirds will be seniors Matt McArthur, Nate Page and Jared Brader, junior Tai Reynolds and one from a group of players including junior Thomas Camaione and freshmen Jeff Evans and Denny Job.

CROSS COUNTRY: SUU's Cameron Levins has been named The Summit League Cross Country Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Idaho State Invitational over the weekend. The award is the first for Levins this season and the first for a Thunderbird harrier.
