Republican Convention: The cable networks CNN, C-SPAN, FNC, MSNBC will provide coverage pretty much all day long. In prime time, Alaska's Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to accept the vice presidential nomination. PBS (Ch. 7) will be on from 7-10 p.m.; ABC (Ch. 4), CBS (Ch. 2) and NBC (Ch. 5) all plan an hour at 8 p.m.
Bones (7 p.m., Ch. 13): In the fourth-season opener a two-hour episode Booth and Brennan are in London. They meet their British counterparts and get involved in a pair of murder investigations (one in each hour).
America's Next Top Model (7 p.m., Ch. 30): The 11th season of this horrifying show begins. The big twist this time around is that one of the contestants is a preoperative transgender.
Project Runway (10 p.m., Bravo): The competition continues without Utahn Keith Bryce, who was eliminated last week. (Even though he shouldn't have been.)
Top Design (11 p.m., Bravo): This show returns for a second season with a new host (India Hicks) and new producers. And it's much improved. The designers jump right in they're split into teams and have to decorate lofts on a small budget.
