David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel in "Bones" at 7 p.m. on Ch. 13.

Republican Convention: The cable networks — CNN, C-SPAN, FNC, MSNBC — will provide coverage pretty much all day long. In prime time, Alaska's Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to accept the vice presidential nomination. PBS (Ch. 7) will be on from 7-10 p.m.; ABC (Ch. 4), CBS (Ch. 2) and NBC (Ch. 5) all plan an hour at 8 p.m.

Bones (7 p.m., Ch. 13): In the fourth-season opener — a two-hour episode — Booth and Brennan are in London. They meet their British counterparts and get involved in a pair of murder investigations (one in each hour).

America's Next Top Model (7 p.m., Ch. 30): The 11th season of this horrifying show begins. The big twist this time around is that one of the contestants is a preoperative transgender.

Project Runway (10 p.m., Bravo): The competition continues without Utahn Keith Bryce, who was eliminated last week. (Even though he shouldn't have been.)

Top Design (11 p.m., Bravo): This show returns for a second season with a new host (India Hicks) and new producers. And it's much improved. The designers jump right in — they're split into teams and have to decorate lofts on a small budget.
