MediaOne of Utah is seeking donations and volunteers for a service project to benefit the families of soldiers deployed to Iraq from Hill Air Force Base.

The project will be held during the third semi-annual "What a Woman Wants Show" at the Davis Conference Center, which will run Sept. 12-13, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The service effort will consist of two parts: a donation drive and a pillow-making project. Items sought for the donation drive include evening gowns, dress shoes and purses for formal dinners for the spouses of deployed HAFB soldiers. Volunteers will help cut out patterns for camouflage pillows that will include an image of the deployed family member.

"The families of these military heroes are heroes themselves," says Marie Bowcut, organizer of the event and director of events and community relations for MediaOne of Utah. "Pillows signify comfort. We hope that these pillows — which will display a photo of the deployed loved one — will bring a smile to the faces of these brave people."

Volunteers and donors will receive free admission to the event, as will any attendee who shows up wearing an evening gown.
