A woman convicted in the death of her baby will be granted parole next year.
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole said Friday that Connie Jean Long will be released from prison in January. She and her husband, Kevin Paul Long, have been in prison since 2005 on child-abuse homicide convictions stemming from the suffocation death of their 5-month-old son.
Tooele County prosecutors say Kevin Long hit the infant, stuck a pacifier in his mouth and wrapped him in a blanket, suffocating him. Connie Long was present at the time, prosecutors alleged.
