FARMINGTON Three girls whom authorities allege were sexually abused by a West Bountiful man will likely not have to testify at an upcoming hearing for Charles Craig Zamora.
A judge here in 2nd District Court ruled Thursday that if Davis County prosecutors can present a compelling argument, videotaped interviews of the victims would be allowed. Zamora's defense attorney sought to have the right to cross-examine the children.
"We'd like to have these kids only testify once," deputy county attorney Richard Larsen said Thursday.
Zamora, 37, is charged with sodomy on a child, aggravated sex abuse of a child and rape of a child in three different cases. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9, where prosecutors will seek to consolidate the cases.
