FARMINGTON — A Davis County prosecutor has resigned, ending an investigation into misconduct allegations.

Davis County personnel officials confirmed the resignation of Ron Dunn, who was a prosecutor in the county attorney's juvenile division. Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings would only say Dunn's resignation was for "personal reasons."

"He submitted a resignation letter, and the resignation has been accepted by Mr. Rawlings," said Mel Miles, Davis County's personnel director.

Miles confirmed the resignation came at the conclusion of an investigation the county had conducted.

"It was an investigation over complaints of misconduct," he said. "I can't go into any more detail than that at this time."

A message left at Dunn's home was not immediately returned on Tuesday. Dunn had been at the county attorney's office for more than a year. He most recently prosecuted a series of cases involving a group of Davis County teens who had traded nude pictures over cell phones.

Rawlings would not say if the resignation was tied to any pending cases or if they need to re-examine any cases that Dunn prosecuted.

"We will deal with any concerns that people may have about any cases," Rawlings told the Deseret News.
