After two matches the battle in Region 7 golf is extremely tight between three teams.
Despite not winning either of the first two matches, held at Overlake and Cascade Fairways, Springville (619) has a one-shot lead over Orem (620) and two shots over Tooele (621). The Buffaloes won the first match at Overlake with a team score of 304, led by medalist Jacob Holt's 4-under 68. Orem sophomore Dalton Stanger posted a 72 and Springville senior Ryan Rigby shot 74.
In Match 2, at Cascade, the Tigers took top honors with a 299. This time Orem's John Hale was medalist at 72, followed by Stanger with a 73 and fellow Orem teammate Chris Hatch at 74. Shooting 75 was Springville's Duncan Allman, with Timpview's Marc Cabanilla and Springville's Taylor Bankhead posting 76 each.
Overall, Stanger is leading the medalist race with a two-round total of 145, two shots ahead of Holt. Rigby and Bankhead are at 153, Timpview's Derek Hislop at 154, and Hale and Tooele's Tyler Abarca sit at 155.
