My son just came home from his first day of eighth grade at Fairfield Junior High in Kaysville. He collapsed in a chair and said in teen vernacular: "It was freakin' hot in that building!" He went on to say that Mr. Carter went around the classroom with a spray bottle to cool some hot faces.

Maybe someday we can do something about the heat in our schools, even if it is a short time as some say. Our children need to be comfortable as well as safe. Our teachers work hard and deserve the same comfort. Maybe it's time to think about energy alternatives for our schools.
