EUREKA — A wildfire burned about 350 acres along the border of Juab and Utah counties Sunday.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. and was burning Pinyon Juniper and sage along some steep terrain about three miles northwest of Eureka, according to the Richfield Interagency Fire Center.

Flames were shooting more than 30 feet in the air as firefighters attempted to contain the blaze with airplanes, multiple engines and four hand crews. Eleven smokejumpers also parachuted into the area.

Eureka Cemetery Road was closed Sunday.

It was unknown how much of the fire had been contained. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
