The Deseret News Prep Grid Picks Contest launched along with the 2008 high school football season last week, and Shaun Edwards of Layton was nearly perfect in winning the first contest.

Six runners-up each receive a Grid Picks T-shirt. They are David Wursten, Orem; Justus Swensen, Millville; Ian Eyre, Ogden; Eric Eyre, Ogden; Marce Wilson, West Jordan; and Cameron Hall, Cottonwood Heights.
