Need help with the transition to digital television? The Salt Lake City Library System is offering free seminars for the public.

On Feb. 19, 2009, standard broadcast television signals in the United States will end, and TV sets that rely on an antenna will no longer receive signals. If you currently subscribe to cable or satellite service, or if your television is "DTV Ready," you won't be affected.

If you currently use an antenna for reception, you will need to purchase a DTV converter box. Coupons are available to help offset the cost of the DTV converter box.

The free seminar schedule is: Sept. 16, 7 p.m., Main Library; Sept. 30, 7 p.m., Day-Riverside Library; Oct. 11, 2 p.m., Sweet Library; Oct. 16, 7 p.m., Day-Riverside Library (Spanish); Oct. 29, 7 p.m., Anderson-Foothill Library; Nov. 11, 2 p.m., Day-Riverside Library; and Nov. 13, 7 p.m., Sprague Library.
