FARMINGTON — Bruce Summerhays, the 64-year-old Champions Tour veteran who lives in Farmington, fired a course-record-tying 62 Saturday to take the lead at the Siegfried & Jensen Utah Open at Oakridge Country Club with a 132 total.

Summerhays takes a one-shot lead into Sunday's final round over his nephew Boyd Summerhays and 48-year-old Greg Bruckner of Phoenix. Salt Lake's Mark Owen is another stroke back at 134 after his second straight 67.

Summerhays, who won three times on the Champions Tour before moving to "retired" status this year, had eight birdies, one eagle and no bogeys on the day. He is looking for his first-ever Utah Open title.

Defending champion Clay Ogden is in a group of three golfers at 135.
