Aug. 26: The Utah Department of Health is looking for public comment on the renewal of its federal Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant. Sept. 6: 8 a.m. to noon, the concluding session of the University of Utah School of Medicine's annual Alumni Weekend focuses on the U.S. health-care system and problems that have risen over the past two decades, as well as the pros and cons of suggested reforms. The symposium will be held in the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building, Alumni Hall.
Sept. 13: A chuckwagon breakfast at Harmons stores, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. to raise money for Wasatch Front Lions clubs sight preservation program. All proceeds go to the Utah Lions Foundation for cornea transplants, research and eye treatment. Breakfast is $3 for a full meal. Harmons has donated all of the food.
