All bicyclists are required by law to stop at red lights and wait for them to turn green before proceeding. This morning, as I was running through the crosswalk from the entrance at Sugarhouse Park and 1500 East, a biker failed to follow this simple law. He was not in danger of being hit by a car, I was in danger of being hit by a bike. If I hadn't seen this foolish move, I would've been on the ground with scrapes, bruises and possibly broken bones. If a car does that, I take the license-plate number and report them to the police. Bikers have no plates and go without suffering the consequences. Bicycle license plates would discourage bikers from being a public nuisance.
