The elephant is the symbol of the Republican Party, and many in the GOP in Utah have one thing in common with the elephant: An elephant never forgets. Many of our Republican lawmakers have not forgotten — nor forgiven — Utah taxpayers for rejecting vouchers. The citizens continually urged and petitioned the legislators against vouchers. But legislators deliberately ignored the will of the people.

Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers in Salt Lake County, especially Greg Curtis, are keeping very quiet, in the vain hope the taxpayers won't recall their many betrayals. Utah County Republicans are giving mixed signals. Curt Bramble is rejecting the statements of other legislators regarding referendum requirements. John Valentine soothingly says there's no pending change in referendum regulations.

These guys represent their own best interests. Why don't we send them to the trash heap for failing their constituents?
