OGDEN (AP) — Health authorities say tests on a horse in Weber County came back positive for West Nile virus.

Officials say no resident of northern Utah has contracted the disease so far this year, but cases have been confirmed in other parts of the state.

West Nile can cause neurological problems.

Weber-Morgan Health Department spokeswoman Lori Buttars says the horse is recovering. It probably was bitten by a mosquito carrying the disease.
