A collection of spirited music that only peppy teens with fluorescent wristbands have heard up until now will be available to the masses when this summer's EFY CD, "Steady and Sure," goes on sale Friday.

The CD was created to encompass the theme of this year's Especially For Youth conferences, which are sponsored by the Church Educational System. It features a collection of songs from various artists, including Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband's acoustic hit "Dream Big." Jessie Clark Funk sings the album's title track.

In addition to the 12 songs distributed to thousands of youths at EFY, the commercial CD features five bonus tracks, four of which are instrumental versions of songs already on the album, and one vocal song titled "Time," by The Gibbons.

The commercial Web site yourLDSneighborhood.com, which is a virtual community of LDS-themed businesses, was given distribution rights to the album, and it will be sold through that site, as well as retail stores.

Coinciding with the CD's release is an end-of-summer concert Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. meant to recapture the moments from EFY 2008. Several of the artists on "Steady and Sure" will perform songs from the CD in addition to singing their personal songs.

The concerts will be in the Utah Valley University McKay Events Center and are open to all teens and families regardless of religious affiliation. Tickets are $9 and available at SmithTix or the UVU ticket office. For more information, call 888-782-5113.
