An 82-year-old woman was in serious condition with head trauma after being hit by a car while crossing the street near Trolley Square today.
The woman, whose name was not released Tuesday afternoon, was crossing 700 East near 600 South about 12:17 p.m. and made it a quarter of the way across when she was hit by a vehicle, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Fred Ross.
The woman was in a crosswalk but crossing against the light, he said. The car had the green light.
Whether or not a citation would be issued to the driver was still being reviewed.
