SACRAMENTO Donnie Murphy's single scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Sacramento River Cats a 5-4 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Friday night.
Matt Murton opened the inning with a ground ball to short, but Brandon Wood's throw to first pulled Bobby Wilson off the bag. A sacrifice bunt moved Murton to second and Kasey Olenberger (4-6) intentionally walked Wes Bankston. Landon Powell then walked to load the bases before Murphy lined a ball past the pulled-in infield to drive in the game-winner, as the River Cats swept the four-game series.
The Bees jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Terry Evans and a two-run single by Dee Brown.
Wilson led Salt Lake with three hits, The Bees have now lost 14 of their last 15 games in Sacramento and their Northern Division lead is down to four games over Tacoma with 18 games remaining.
