It is a dark day in the history of the United States when we refuse to help an ally in a time of need. The friend I am referring to is Georgia. They are a freedom-loving people and the best ally we have among the old Soviet republics. They have repeatedly shown their support for America, even sending 2,000 troops to help us stabilize Iraq. Now they need our help. And what do we do? Talk.

In a matter of days their country will be lost. And as they sit in the rubble of their homes they will wonder why we dd not come to help them as they came to help us.
