BEIJING — Spain (3-0) remained perfect in Beijing Olympics men's basketball play, setting up Saturday night's matchup with the United States, following a 72-59 Group B victory over Germany (1-2).

The Spaniards turned a four-point deficit midway into the second quarter into a three-point halftime lead and then blitzed the Germans with a 17-0 run to start the second half.

Jose Manuel Calderon of Spain led all scorers with 15 points, with teammates Alex Mumbru adding 14 and Pau Gasol 13. Steffen Hamann paced Germany with 15 points, while Dirk Nowitzki contributed 11.

Former Jazz guard Raul Lopez again started for Spain but played only five-plus minutes, finishing with three points and a rebound.

CHINA 85, ANGOLA 68: Favored native son Yao Ming posted the top individual performance in Beijing to date, scoring 30 points on 10-of-11 shooting and adding seven rebounds, four blocked shots and three assists as China (1-2) collected a much-needed win over Angola (0-3).

Fellow NBA player Yi Jianlian finished with a double-double for China, with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

ARGENTINA 77, CROATIA 53: Andres Nocioni scored 18 and Carlos Delfino added 15, and Argentina (2-1) led from start to finish in handing Croatia (2-1) its first Olympics loss in Group A play.

Argentina hit 54 percent of its shots, nearly doubling Croatia's 33 percent FG shooting. Croatia failed to have a double-figure scorer, with Marko Tomas and Marko Banic each finishing with nine points.

SATURDAY'S SCHEDULE: Highlighting Saturday's slate of next-to-last pool contests is the pairing of Group B unbeatens United States (3-0) and Spain (3-0). In other Group B games, Germany (1-2) and host China (1-2) will battle, with the loser mired in fifth place; while Greece (1-2) takes on Angola (0-3).

In Group A, Croatia (2-1) meets Lithuania (3-1), Australia (1-2) faces Russia (1-2), and Argentina (2-1) squares off against Iran (0-3).
