BEIJING The United States had little trouble improving to 2-0 in Group B men's basketball play at the Beijing Games, overwhelming Angola 97-76 Tuesday night at the Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.
For the second-straight outing, Dwyane Wade led all U.S. scorers, hitting 6-of-8 shots from the floor for 19 points. In the two games now, Wade has put together 13-of-15 shooting.
Dwight Howard added 14 points and LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony had 12 each.
Deron Williams finished with seven points, four assists and two steals, while Carlos Boozer made 1-of-4 shots for two points and added two rebounds as well.
Carlos Morais led Africa champion Angola with 24 points but was the only player on his team in double figures.

CROATIA 85, RUSSIA 78: Andrei Kirilenko scored a team-high 18 points to lead four players in double figures, but Russia (1-1) suffered its first loss of the Olympics, falling to undefeated Croatia (2-0).
Kirilenko finished with 18 points, with two 3-pointers among his 5-of-11 shooting from the floor. He added a team-best six rebounds as well as three assists, three blocked shots and a steal.
Croatia, led by Marko Popvic's 22 points and Zoran Planinic's 22, took the lead for good in the second quarter en route to a 42-35 halftime lead.
LITHUANIA 99, IRAN 67: Linas Kleiza scored 22 points and Sarunas Jasikevicius added 22 as the two combined to shoot 16-of-20 to lead Lithuania (2-0) over Iran (0-2). The Iranians actually led 20-15 after the first quarter, but the Lithuanians scored the first 18 points of the second to start the route.
ARGENTINA 85, AUSTRALIA 68: Manu Ginobili scored 21 points and Luis Scola added 17 as Argentina (1-1) outscored Australia 16-3 in the first five minutes en route to the lopsided victory The Aussies were led by Patrick Mills' 22 points. Andrew Bogut managed just seven points on 3-of-10 FG shooting.
SPAIN 85, CHINA 75 (OT): Spain's Pau Gasol proved to be too much of a man in the middle, shooting 13-of-16 inside the arc en route to 29 points in the winning effort. Rudy Fernandez added 21 points, while Liu Wei's 19 points led four Chinese in double-figure scoring. Former Jazz guard Raul Lopez started and grabbed two rebounds in five minutes. China led 46-37 at the half and 61-47 after three quarters, but Spain opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run to draw close and then outscored the hosts 13-3 in overtime to remain unbeaten.
GREECE 87, GERMANY 64: With Vasileios Spanoulis finished with a game-high 23 points in Greece's first Olympic win, while Dirk Nowitzki managed a meager 13 to lead the Germans. Germany used an 8-0 at the end of the first quarter for a 23-21 lead, but the Greeks took control by answering with a 12-0 surge to start the second and were never challenged the rest of the way.
COMING THURSDAYTwo teams look to improve to 3-0 as the U.S. meets Greece (1-1) and Spain takes on Germany (1-1). Host China (0-2) hopes to post its first Olympic victory against Angola (0-2) And in Group A, Russia (1-1) looks to hand Lithuania (2-0) its first loss, while Argentina (1-1) tries to do the same against Croatia (2-0). Australia (0-2) squares off against Iran (0-2) as both look for their first Olympic victory.
