HYDE PARK, Cache County Police shot and killed a man Tuesday following a domestic dispute.
Officers from the North Park and Smithfield police departments responded to a home in Hyde Park about 2:30 p.m. after receiving calls about a family dispute involving a man and other family members. Shortly after officers arrived, shots were reportedly fired from the room where the man was located, according to a statement from North Park police.
Officers, including police from Logan and the Cache County SWAT team, surrounded the home and were able to reach the 28-year-old man by telephone. He came out of the house about 5 p.m. and "confronted officers," according to the release.
Officers shot and killed the man. Police did not say how many shots were fired, if the man had a weapon or how he confronted the officers.
"The Cache County Sheriff's Office is leading a multi-jurisdictional team of investigators to document and review the events of this incident," the release states.
