Showtime's drug-dealing mom on "Weeds" will now take on another independent woman, Henrik Ibsen's iconoclastic heroine "Hedda Gabler."
Mary-Louise Parker will star in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival opening Jan. 25, artistic director Todd Haimes said Monday. Preview performances begin Jan. 6 at the American Airlines Theatre.
The production, in a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, will be directed by Ian Rickson, former artistic director of London's Royal Court Theatre. Additional casting will be announced.
The play was last seen on Broadway in 2001 with Kate Burton in the title role.
