CEDAR CITY (AP) — State wildlife officials are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in a deer-poaching case.

Conservation officer Chris Schulze says a farmer found the carcass of the deer in a field on a farm about two miles from Beryl Junction Saturday.

Schulze says the deer was a trophy buck. The animal had been shot three times with a small-caliber weapon and had been dead for several weeks.

Poaching is a third-degree felony punishable by a prison terms of up to five years.
