DES MOINES, Iowa — Back-to-back doubles to start the bottom of the ninth inning by Iowa's Luis Figueroa and Andres Torres gave the Cubs a 6-5 Pacific Coast League win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday afternoon.

Salt Lake took a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning on a run-scoring single by Kendry Morales, but Iowa tied the game in the eighth as Darren O'Day (1-2) issued a leadoff walk to Josh Kroeger, who scored on a double by Casey McGehee.

O'Day took the loss as he gave up the doubles to Figueroa and Torres.

Brandon Wood had two hits for the Bees, including his 27th home run of the season with two runners on base in the first inning.

That was not a good sign, however, as the team that scored first in the series ended up losing each of the four games played.

Morales added two hits and an RBI, while Dee Brown also chipped in two hits for the Bees, who went 5-3 on their Midwestern road trip.
