Let us assume, for a fleeting moment, that Barack Obama's energy solutions are not pie in the sky but will really work — that we all overfill our tires, walk, ride bikes, take public transportation and/or drive in tin-foil cars that get 100 miles per gallon. Let us assume this will make us free from all foreign oil needs. I have one question: Wouldn't it still be a good idea for us to get at least 10 billion barrels of oil out of the currently forbidden sites of ANWR, the coastal areas and Western states shale, worth over one trillion dollars, and sell it to the world? It would create jobs in this country, give us a great balance of trade and income to tax, which would reduce the national debt and even help fund the new socialist leaning government Obama wants.
