In an effort to educate residents about crime prevention, safety and community services, cities around the Salt Lake valley will host Night Out Against Crime events this week.
South Salt Lake police will provide informational booths and demonstrations at Granite High School, 3305 S. 500 East, Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event will also include food and games for children.
West Valley City police and other officials will be at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, 1355 W. 3100 South today from 5 to 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, the National Night Out Against Crime, several West Valley City neighborhoods have planned street parties.
Draper police will host Safety Day and Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Draper City Park, 1300 E. 12400 South. The event will include information on identity theft, emergency preparedness, neighborhood watch, DARE and gangs. Equipment from several agencies will also be on display.
Also on Tuesday night, Salt Lake police will host events from 5 to 9 p.m. at the following six locations: 1185 S. Windsor; 1033 S. Lake Street, West Point Park at 1100 N. 2200 West; Jordan Meadows LDS Stake Center at 400 N. 1900 West; 1158 E. Simondi Ave.; The Hook and Ladder, 1313 W. California Ave.
