DES MOINES, Iowa — Micah Hoffpauir drove in five runs and Mitch Atkins pitched six strong innings to lead the Iowa Cubs to a 7-3 Pacific Coast League win over the Salt Lake Bees on Sunday afternoon.

The Bees grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Kendry Morales, but Iowa came back to take the lead in the fourth on a run-scoring groundout by Hoffpauir and a solo homer by Jason DuBois, his 20th of the season.

Hoffpauir added a three-run homer in the fifth inning and a run-scoring double in the seventh.

Atkins (5-0) struck out a season-high 11 batters and retired the final 16 Salt Lake batters he faced to earn his fifth straight Triple-A win and 10th straight start overall. Justin Berg allowed one hit in two scoreless innings of relief.

The Bees' Dustin Moseley (6-7) took the loss, as he allowed six runs on seven hits in five innings with three strikeouts and three walks.

Gary Patchett and Sean Rodriguez each hit solo home runs in the ninth inning for the Bees, while Morales added two hits and an RBI for the Bees, who now are tied for the best record in the PCL at 68-47.
