LOGAN — A paperwork blunder at an Idaho jail has led to a wanted burglary suspect being released.

Police said in a statement Friday that investigators were looking for the man in connection with a residential burglary where a computer and a credit card were stolen. Tracking credit cards, they found their suspect in an Idaho jail.

Logan police said unfortunately, the man talked jail staff into allowing him to post bail before Utah authorities could get to him. He was last known to be back in Utah.

Police said Derry Jerel Howard is wanted on nine no-bail warrants, as well as an escape charge in Idaho.
