A wildfire burning above Salt Lake City could be fully contained by this weekend, firefighters said.

The City Creek Canyon fire is about 75-percent contained now, with fire crews being demobilized as fire lines are shored up and the fire is extinguished. About 80 fire personnel will be on site to work on containment today, said Jason Curry with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.

City Creek Canyon Road remains closed, as do trails in City Creek Canyon.

Meanwhile, the investigation is intensifying into the cause of the 130-acre wildfire. Fire investigators will be back at the scene of the wildfire's start today to perform a closer search for any evidence that leads them to who started it.

"They'll be gridding out an area looking for evidence and interviewing people in the area that might have seen anything," said Curry.

Investigators believe the fire was human caused. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 801-538-7302.
