RUSTON, La. (AP) — Coach Derek Dooley says academic problems will keep two freshmen and a redshirt freshman from playing football for Louisiana Tech, and he has suspended a fourth player for breaking team rules.

He says linebacker Zach Schreiber was suspended indefinitely. The statement released Friday did not say what rules the junior broke.

Dooley says redshirt freshman linebacker Jay Dudley cannot play this season because of academics.

He says defensive back Jimmie Crawford is transferring to Cisco Junior College and running back Ketaurus Stanton will enroll at Trinity Valley Junior College because they don't meet NCAA academic requirements. Dooley says coaches knew both were long shots to qualify.
