You can spend a hot summer day cooling off with a popular bear series and benefit children's health at the same time.

Kohl's Department Stores is offering copies of four titles by illustrator/author Eric Carle for $5 each. The books normally retail for $8 to $17 each.

They include: "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?"; "Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?"; "Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?"; and "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You See?" Coordinating plush bears are available for $5 each.

The books, available through September at Kohl's stores, will benefit children's hospitals and health initiatives nationwide.

Since 2000, Kohl's has raised more than $102 million for children's health through its Kohl's Cares for Kids program, said Julie Gardner of Kohl's.

The department store chain donates 100 percent of the net profits, she said.

Carle has written more than 70 books, selling more than 75 million copies worldwide, since his first children's book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" in 1969.
