OREM — An American Fork man is in police custody after allegedly sexually abusing his daughter for the past eight years and for providing her with methamphetamine.

The man was booked into the Utah County Jail July 16 for investigation of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sexual abuse of a minor and distribution of methamphetamine.

The 39-year-old man's daughter came to police in June and reported that her father had been abusing her since she was 13, according to a 4th District Court affidavit of probable cause. The woman, 21, told police that when she was 13 her father took an unusual interest in her and would try to grope her while wrestling with her.

The woman said that when she was 14, her father continued to grope her while wrestling and tried to make it seem accidental, according to the affidavit. When she turned 16, the woman said her father began giving her methamphetamine. Instead of giving his daughter the drug freely, the woman told police her father would make her wear revealing clothing, expose herself or let him touch her. She also said that if she refused, her father would assault her anyway and withhold the drug. She told police the conduct continued up until the present, according to the affidavit.

American Fork police interviewed the man, according to the affidavit, and said he admitted to providing his daughter with methamphetamine beginning when she was 17.
