Construction along state Route 30, a main thoroughfare that connects commuters between Box Elder and Cache County was completed Tuesday evening.

While some shoulder work around state Route 23 in Petersboro and a park-and-ride lot is yet to be completed, Staker Parson Companies announced that the roadway is "virtually" open to the public. The project began in August of 2007 and was completed by construction teams nine days ahead of schedule.

The S.R. 30 project added wider shoulders in some areas, less steep inclines, new passing lanes and new drainage structures. In some parts crews were required to completely reconstruct the roadway.
