Provo Fire and Rescue has appointed Gary Jolley as deputy fire chief.

Provo native Jolley has been a battalion chief with nearly 30 years experience with the city's fire department. He was initially hired as a firefighter in 1979 and has filled various positions, such as EMT, paramedic and captain.

Jolley has also been the physical fitness coordinator for the department since 1990. He lives in Provo with his wife Kathy and has four children and seven grandchildren.
