SPANISH FORK — The body of a 23-year-old man who was reported missing last week has been found, and police said he appears to have committed suicide.

The truck belonging to Spanish Fork resident Casey Alvey — who was last seen on July 16 — was located by Alvey's brother around 11:25 a.m. by the Payson Landfill on the south side of West Mountain, said Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

Family members and police responded to the scene, and an hour later, the father, Scott Alvey, found his body.

Cannon said it appears to be a suicide, and declined to comment further, saying the death is still under investigation.

Spencer said the family is upset, especially the father. "It's no fun for him to have to deal with," he said. "Especially finding him like this."

Alvey was last seen leaving his Spanish Fork home to deliver a gun to his uncle in Spring Lake, Spanish Fork police previously said.
